Liners Notes:

I have known Ken Lovelace for many years from the Jerry Lee Lewis Shows - my friend Graham Knight introduced me to him in 2002 at Jerry’s birthday party in Memphis.  I invited Ken and his wife Jo Ann to Germany and we made the first trial Recordings with Niek van Klundert (Piano) and his friend Eric (Drums) in September 2004.

In December 2004 and March 2005 Ken came back to Germany and we recorded the Songs for this CD. Our intention from the beginning was to record a mixture of Rock’n’Roll, Country and Country-Pop. Ken brought seven new Songs which he had created with his writing co-authors: Carol Templeton and Julie Richmond.

I can say that we had a lot of fun during those sessions (and a lot of Red Wine) - the whole team worked very hard to make the Songs really good.

The most emotional time for everyone in the studio came when Ken sang, “Help Me”. We had talked about this song earlier and I told him that this song is a prayer and that he should dedicate it to his late brother and to Bill Strom (Organ Player of JLL’s “Killer Band”) both of whom had recently died. At the end of this song the emotion overwhelmed Ken and his voice broke. Everybody in the studio (all long-standing professional Artists) were touched deeply. I told Ken afterwards that his interpretation of the Kris Kristofferson song was very personal and I would understand if he did not want it on the CD. Ken answered: “Rolf, if this song will help somebody to relieve their pain - it has been worth putting it on the CD”.

It was my great pleasure to work with one of the best Guitar- and Fiddle Players in this field of music.

“Keep on rockin’ - lonesome Fiddle Man”.
