The Haas family of rural Roanoke enjoys supper together during a

break from planting 100 acres of soybeans near Secor in Woodford County.

During spring and fall, a hot evening meal is prepared and served in the field where they are working.  Not only does this save time from traveling home to eat,

it also gives them the chance to sit down together and discuss the day’s events.

Three generations of family are involved in the farm operation.
