3D modeling and animation is a hobby of mine, and books a passion. In 'The BookLands 08.1', we are reintroduced to an eclectic group of characters who made their debut in 2007 in the daily 3D cartoon series called 'MuseToons'.
They share a common interest; that is their love of books. However, there are moments when a little persuasion is necessary to convert some reluctant recipients of their lust for literature into willing readers.
deBluze is a book-loving, roller-skating paint tube. Cuffs is a tough, street-wise young man who never had any interest in books until one was literally thrust upon him. Mod bursts out of the gate with his technology in tow. Although he has a trunk full of books, he prefers bits & bites to gather his information. Unfortunately, he's a little careless with his data. Mama D, an attractive, librarian, is the glue that binds all bibliophiles. She enjoys the friendship of Kisha, the particular book-drop-box.
The Booklands 08
KAi Opening
The BookLands is as the name implies, the land of book. The title comes from a poem I wrote in 2001. The manifestations of The BookLands come from my passion for the written word and the primary repositories for books: libraries (both public and private).
The BookLands is a remedy (though not a cure-all) for the ills of illiteracy and the complacent literate. It employs passion, not statistics (since stats don’t too well stimulate), to persuade its audience to crack open the books. I operate within the simple premise that people will pursue what they find pleasure in, especially when it serves a purpose.
The BookLands project is out to get the world excited about literacy in general and books in particular. I produce products that I hope are both entertaining and enlightening.
The KAi (Keni Arts international) Opening was my first computer generated animated film which I did over 10 years ago.
The music is composed and played by my friend, Robert Kyle.
Plein Air Painting
Paintings from my travels throughout the United States and to Brazil, England, Germany, and Mexico.
All of the paintings were done en plein air (on location). Most are watercolors, with a few oil paintings mixed in.
