How The Garden

Has Grown...

This month, The Spout highlights some of the exciting developments in our group’s efforts to raise funds for the redesign of the Sensory

Garden to honor Docent Dorcas Utter.

As we contemplate the changes planned for the proposed Dorcas Utter Sensory Garden later this year, we also look back at some of the other changes that have already taken place at the Garden.

What better season than early Spring, to recognize not only of all the growth throughout the Garden today, but to look back and see how much the Garden has grown in the nine years since it opened it gates in 1999.

We hope you will enjoy comparing the pictures of the Garden on opening day in 1999, and views from the same perspectives in 2008. Most of the “Then” pictures were taken by docent Jan T at the opening day ceremony. Thanks also to Ted Salois of Helix Water District, who provided some additional pictures of The Garden under construction.
