Bio

If you’ve come to this page you may be interested in our church and it’s pastor, so here’s a bit about me:
I came to Christ in college and was “discipled” by Campus Crusade and The Navigators. Though I’m a seminary grad, no one has improved on those early lessons in following Christ, so “discipling” is a big deal to me.
I graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary with an M.Div. in 1986 and for eight years was an associate pastor in the P.C.A. - a great denomination with a solid hold on scripture and ministry. I accepted the call to this “interdenominational” church as its pastor about 12 years ago. Over the last twelve years I have become more convinced than ever of the historic evangelical faith as expressed through the tradition of the seminary I attended.
My wife, Grit,  and I have been married for 33 years in August, and we have two grown daughters, Kendra and Miriam. They constitute the three loves of my life on earth.
I preach and teach from scripture with a “reformed” perspective, meaning from a Reformation understanding of the Word and the Gospel. That means taking the scripture to be completely trustworthy and having a high view of God’s  sovereignty over all.  Jesus has made all the difference in my life, my family, and my work. I know I’m a sinner saved by grace, and that is at the heart of all my preaching and teaching - salvation by grace through faith alone in Christ alone. I’m His for the long haul.
