This is a sketch of Angelina Jolie from the cover of Entertainment Weekly a few weeks back.  I wanted to do something different and try a more “realistic” style of art.  This has given me good ideas on how to draw eyes and noses, which have grown particularly “stylized” in my work over the years.

I also played around with cross-hatching on the shaded parts of this drawing.  I think I do pretty well with cross-hatching in small areas, but obviously I need to work a bit on doing it consistently over a wide area.
