It’s official: I know how to do flipturns. I wanted Steve to videotape me, so I could see if I was doing it right and to prove to everyone how awesome I am, but for complicated reasons -- involving a need to clean the toilet as we were leaving to swim -- there is no video.
Instead I did a highly scientific test: I swam 100y hard with flipturns and 100y hard without. I was approximately the same speed. Conclusion: my flipturns are at least not making me slower.
Steve is getting ready for his trip to Bend this weekend and I’m heading to LA over the weekend.
This race over the weekend is a mystery. Who shows up to Sprint Nationals? No idea. How fast do I need to go? Uh, fast. Is Michellie Jones going to show up again?
Ooh, OOOOOOH! When I just linked to the race website, it now has registration lists up. I think I will go obsess over who’s racing for the rest of the evening.
Answer, by the way, is: yes, apparently, the silver medalist and world champion is racing it again.
