Meet the Keepers of the Windowsill Tomatoes. They’re not all that ferocious, but it sounded good. The only time the skwerls really hold their interest is in the winter when I put birdseed out and several come at once. I know, I know--what am I doing complaining about the Furry Fiend when at other times of the year I put out food for him and his cousins? Well, the only time I don’t think that squirrels are absolutely adorable is when they’re skwerling after my tomatoes.
I came very close to catching the Doer in the midst of a Dastardly Deed this afternoon. As I mentioned before, I’d like very much to get a little movie of him in action but, of course, he scampered off as soon as I started opening doors to go outside with the camera. It looked like he might have been on the verge of returning but my upstairs neighbor came clomping home and ruined the moment.
Just waiting for my bread machine to finish a loaf. Nothing like freshly baked bread, even if I didn’t do any of the work! Only drawback, it’s one of those awkwardly large square loaves. [Later] I’ve taken long enough preparing today’s work that the bread is finished and out. Yummy!
