Welcome to the Andrew Vidal memorial scholarship website

Andrew Lee Vidal pledged Sigma Pi Fraternity in the Fall of 1997 in his first semester at the University of Missouri - Rolla (now known as Missouri University of Science & Technology). During his five years at Rolla, Andy served the Alpha Iota Chapter as Pledge Trainer and as a leader to many. He had one of the biggest smiles of any brother, or son, and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He died in a car accident on the morning of Sunday, November 9th, 2003.

In Andy's name, we (Andy’s family and friends) have started an annual scholarship to help bring some light to this tragedy. Those of us who remember him (and to know him was to love him) wish to have Andy’s legacy live on perpetually through a scholarship fund that would make him proud, and provide assistance to deserving students. All monies generated and donated to this fund are used to seed a foundation that currently provides two scholarships, awarded annually to high school seniors (attending college immediately after graduating HS), or students attending an accredited junior college, community college, or university. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to benefit young people in Andy’s name perpetually.

The scholarship application deadline is July 15 every year. Click on the end of this sentence, or on the link at the right of this page, to go to the application for the Andrew Vidal Memorial Scholarship Application 08.pdf.
