Burning Man Day 6

Day of the big man burn. Lots of activities last night. Dances, Disco’s, carnivals, burns, fireworks, fire dancers and more. I didn’t take many still shots, I am using the camcorder more at night. Posted a few photos form yesterday afternoon. The man burns tonight and the temple burns tomorrow night. Still people arriving. Weather says dust storms today so we’re preparing to “batten down the hatches”. Mostly resting up for the night today.

Burning Man Day 5

The day is just starting made a trip out to the playa to see some new art installed last night. The photos also include some of last nights activities. I mostly took video last night. The party really gets rolling tonight and tomorrow night. Lots of people still arriving. I am having a great time. Getting plenty of rest and feeling good. Weather has been great, but it looks bad tomorrow, lots of wind and dust and turning colder.

Burning Man Day 4

I got up early and made a 4 hour walking tour of the Playa Art. Long walk but well worth it. Weather has been nice today and yesterday, no dust storms and moderate temperature. So many bike here, I parked my bike at center camp before I went on the walk. When I came back it took me 20 minutes to find my bike. I thought maybe it had been stolen, but it was just my faulty memory. I’ll be heading out tonight for some night time photography. Almost all of the clubs are up and running and the fires are burning.

Burning Man Day 3

Quiet day around here, recovering from too much Tequila last night and getting a little work done lighting up my bike. Went with Mark for a short ride this morning to Center Camp for coffee and Arctica #3 for ice. Planning to take a long ride to the playa about sunset. Lots of construction still taking place, building a city. Hotter today pushing 100, but light wind. Dust at Black Rock City minimum.

Burning Man Day 2

Weather much better today, more normal, hot and less wind. Cleaned up camp a little. Lots of construction going on today. Art and Theme camps catching up and repairing damage from storm. Started to come alive last night but will be growing over the next few days. Still a steady stream of arrivals.
Went out this morning and took a few photos of some of the art work. Still more to come as the week progresses. about noon here now, Patrick and Mark are off exploring. Mark went to a hot dog roast on the other side of town...not sure what Patrick’s up but can guess. I’m listening to Burning Man Radio and archiving photos.

Burning Man Day One

After a night in Reno we made it here early sunday afternoon. Since we could not go in until 12:01 am we were put in a staging area to wait. It was basically a meet and greet party area until they opened the gates. After we got in did some temporary set up and hit sack about 3:00 am. Finished setting up and headed our for short trip to see the man and get coffee at center camp. Got caught in a dust storm on the way back and the wind and dust has been blowing all day. Looking forward to the night and a calming of the wind. Just a few photos, more to come.
