Welcome to my website, www.ExploreBeaufortRealEstate.com. I hope you’ll find everything you’re looking for, and will come back again and again.
While not necessarily “conventional,” I hope my site will allow you to get an idea of life in Beaufort, SC. My site is an ongoing project, so you’ll probably find something different and new with every visit. That’s my intent, and my hope.
My family arrived in Beaufort in 1996. We came from Atlanta. Jennifer and I brought two children with us, one 15 months old, and another about two weeks old. We have six children now, ages 18 months to 14 years.
Real Estate probably seems like a dicey proposition to a lot of folks. It’s really not. Right now, in March 2009, buying conditions are better than I’ve seen in nine years as a full-time Realtor. Interest rates are near historic lows, and prices have been rolled back several years.
If you are looking for vacation home, or a part-time residence, I would ask you to please not look at this strictly from an investment standpoint. Yes, real estate in this are historically has done well.
The first consideration is the prevailing interest rates for mortgages. Right now, they are very low. A lot of buyers, though, are waiting it out, hoping that prices slip further.
They might, but what about interest rates? A rising interest rate can more than offset decreasing prices. And if prices stabilize (and who knows if they are until they do?) while interest rates ascend, well, you can figure that one out.
Secondly, you’ve got to factor in those quality of life variables.
What is the value of having a wonderful weekend getaway for your family, a place you can enjoy time and time again?
Your dream property is probably available right now, and it is probably more affordable than you might think. I can help. Call me at 843.263.6886.
AHEAD OF THE STORM -- Sunday afternoon, on the Beaufort River, a boater tries to get home before the thunderstorm lurking on the horizon arrives. Note the boater approaching in the distance, under the McTeer Bridge, racing moments ahead of the storm.
