Workcamp

We made it! We are now in Dalhonega, Georgia. Our week of hard work has started. We were greeted by our youth from Oswego Prairie and another 300 or so kids. Yesterday we arrived with minutes to spare before our first service started. At this service we met the people in our crews and learned the theme of the week, which is Renovate.

This morning waking up this wasn't very easy and for those of us who went to North Carolina we realized how nice the hotel bed was. Today as we got to our sites we were surprised to realize that for most of us we had no painting to do, unlike the past few years. Almost all of us are building new decks with wheel chair ramps going down. Most of us have two crews working on one house and with pretty much only one thing to do we will more than likely be done very early.

We got back from our site today, full of red clay, which is the soil down here, with nothing else on our mind but taking a shower. But after that it was time for service, well not before dinner of course. But anyway, today we started to learn how to renovate ourselves. We learned today that everyone has been chosen by God to do something. Some people may not yet know or ever know what that something is, while other people just don't want to listen. But for those who are ready it can become every difficult, but God knew it would be so he gave us the bible to help us. Like in Colossians 3:12, which was our bible verse for today, it tells us we some helpful hints. For example, patience, which means try not to throw bats at people even if they hit you with a softball...Megan. Also gentleness, which means no punching, kicking, and biting... Skyler. As we work this week we are going to try to remember as Mike said "what would paul say" to be patient, kind, gentle, compassionate, and humble as we work together to get our work done.

Before I go our youth group would like to remind you not to forget your Taco Bell Fourth meal every night, we will be there every night before bed and we have to tell you it is GOOD!
