Photography Workshop

 

The Basics


Learn photography in a small group setting. Join us for photo/walk/talking expeditions in interesting locations throughout the East Bay. Sessions are lead by Keba Konte, an accomplished local photographer with over 20 years of experience in photojournalism, music industry photography and fine art photo-based mixed media. This one day photo lesson will cover the Basics of lighting, compositions and getting the most out of your camera. I will share my knowledge of photography and assist you in improving your skills. No previous photo experience necessary. Digital, Film and Point&Shoot cameras welcome.


General class outline for a 3 hour session


Introductions.   Discuss points of interest and session goals.


Getting to know your camera

•Optimize your various flash settings

•Manipulate your auto-exposure settings to artistic effect


Practice with various settings.


Lighting

•Experiment with side lighting and rear lighting.

•Defused lighting  (how to find it and how to create it)


Practice various lighting set ups.


Composition

•Control entire “canvas”

•Explore perspectives

•“1/3s” rule of thumb


Experiment with various compositions.


RATES:


Small group 3-5 students: $50 flat fee

Private $88 per hour
