My wife won a scholarship to the University Iberoamericano here in Mexico City. It’s one of the country’s best-known institutions of higher learning. One day, her history professor began the class by saying that they were going to discuss the Russian Revolution and focus on Lenin’s role in it.

“Do you all know who Lenin was?”, he asked.

One intrepid student raised his hand, was called on and responded: “Yeah. That’s Lenin Kravitz, right?”.

Immediately another student butts in and says, “No. Lenin he was a Russian. Lenin Kravitz. Isn’t he a gringo?”.
