Technology Lessons
Technology Lessons
There are so many exciting ways we can use technology with our students, but wouldn’t it be great if there were some lessons already created and ready for you to use?
On this site you will find lessons that are ready to roll with your students with minimal preparation on your part. After all, the students are the ones supposed to be doing all the learning, right? Somehow it seems the teacher does even more! Not all of the lessons require the students to use technology, but within the units technology will be required at some point.
I’ll be adding new lessons just as fast as I can finish putting them together. All of the lessons I post have been used with students and have found great success. I’ve tried to attach just a nominal fee to offset the cost of producing the high-quality lessons.

Hundred’s Day is so much fun in the early grades, but I have found that it can also be fun when you add the older children into the excitement!
Our focus in this activity is comparing how 100 can be big in size, or 100 can be small in size. For instance, 100 could fit in the palm of your hand if you were talking about 100 staples or 100 grains of rice. 100 can be huge if we are talking about 100 cars in the parking lot or a pile of 100 coats.
Upper elementary aged students have a spectacular time creating a movie to be shown to the younger students in honor of hundred’s day. Based primarily for grades 5-10.

With a partner, students will choose a type of product to investigate for a month-long project.
Using television, radio, print, and Internet sources, students will investigate how the product is advertised. Next, students will create a market research survey to determine which brand is preferred by their peers and why. Students will use graphs to illustrate the gathered data. After analyzing the results of the data, students will create an advertisement for the winning product in the form of a poster and a tri-fold brochure. Since students have discovered what the preferred brand is for a particular product, they will need to persuade their parents to buy this product for them by writing a letter to them.
As a conclusion to the project, the partners will create a commercial for the preferred brand that will be performed for the class and video taped. All of the rubrics are included. Based primarily for grades 5-9.

As students hover over their plants that they are growing you can hear discussions about the parts of the plant and what they need in order to grow. Some students are working on posters for a time-lapse movie that the class is making to emphasize just how important water is to plants. At the computer stations you see students engaged in simulations and investigations about plants. Each of the lessons below brings the lives of plants to life for children. Based primarily for grades K-3.

Papa Zigtoni has a new line of pizza choices on his menu. After visiting South America he has decided to offer the Pizzas of the World. Working in partners, students make a pizza about a South American country. The pizza must have at least six equal sized slices. The partners need to decide what is the most important information to include. Each piece should have a main topic. At least one slice needs to compare your country to another South American country. The outside cover of the box should have the country name in large letters. Inside the cover should be a collage about your country.
Another rubric is included for designing a car that can adapt to the various ecosystems of South America.
A rubric for making a pizza box project about a country in the world, but not specific to South America is also included.
