Grace and Peace to you,
There are times when we have a burst of energy and take on major clean-up and improvement projects around home or at work. Spring cleaning, painting a room that is looking worn, or creating a nursery require a lot of effort, but are well worth it. For King of kings, the time is right for a burst we have named ‘Renewal 2008.’ We want to complete several projects that will renew God’s house and allow for continued growth in ministry and fellowship.
The Pastor, Council, Congregation and Staff spent time developing a new vision, GO! MAKE!, based on Matthew 28:19, that encourages active response to God’s call that we go out to plant seeds of faith in people around us and that we work together on making disciples out of everyone that King of kings touches. We are blessed with a great church home and the following projects will help make our facilities even better able to support the vision;
New Sign with Messaging Display
Modernized Lobby with Coffee and Fellowship Area
Larger C.H.A.O.S. Youth Room
Storage Garage
Parking Lot and Roof Repairs
Clean-up of the Playground Area
Renovate Two Classrooms
Exterior Painting
That’s quite a list! Much of the funds needed are available from the sale of the adjoining property in 2006, but to accomplish everything requires that we encourage extra giving at this time. When the projects begin, there will be opportunities to give your time and talents, too.
Please prayerfully consider a special one-time gift that will help achieve our goal $50,000 for ‘Renewal 2008’. We have enclosed a special envelope for your ‘Renewal 2008’ gift. We will be talking more about this in Worship the weekend of May 4, and then will be receiving a special offering on May 11.
We have discussed and prayed over this ambitious plan with leaders of the congregation and our families and we’ve already made our own gifts to Renewal 2008. We hope that you will consider and pray over this special opportunity, and then provide a gift, as well.
