What we DO
Anderson Creative holds two unique ventures.
Fresh Exhibitions :: Translations, Curated by Craig Joseph. We create, cultivate and host innovative artwork that catalyzes fellow artists and expands the audience for art in Stark County. We ambitiously host new installations and original shows each month.
Wild Fabrications :: Designed and built by artist Kevin Anderson. We create original sculptures and will fabricate what ever strange project you are daydreaming about. (Test us.)
What GUIDES us
Creativity :: Originality, novelty and freshness will be championed within these walls.
Character :: We desire to work with artists who are as trustworthy, self-aware, reliable, ethical and considerate as they are artistically gifted.
Relevance :: Art inspires, provokes thought and evokes emotion, but only when experienced firsthand. We seek to make art important to people, featuring work that both appeals to and challenges a wide spectrum of individuals.
Social Consciousness :: Art also calls attention to social issues and responsibly promotes change. We seek to make people important to art, featuring work with humanitarian concerns.
Civic-Mindedness :: Supported and encouraged by our neighbors, we give back, pursuing the betterment of downtown canton and beyond.
Community :: Exposure to new perspectives and methods grows us, so we foster an environment where dialogue, collaboration and mutual sharpening can occur.
Opportunity :: We showcase the work of those at the cusp of their creative life, seeking out “young” artists and those whose voices have not yet been heard.
What we ENVISION
We seek to become an incubator for the development of local artists, formation of unique collaborations and new modes of expression, in order to:
•Obtain local, state and national recognition of creative work occurring in Canton,
•Expand the definition of what creativity is and the various forms in which it can occur, and
•Break paradigms about who art is for, while encouraging a livelier exchange between the viewer and the artwork.
Who we ARE
Anderson Creative,
Succeeds from the work of longtime friends, collaborators and creative partners,
Craig Joseph and Kevin Anderson. (L to R)
We are currently assisted greatly by the work of a few very talented people, artist Heather Bullach, and intern Jim Lightcap.

Kevin Anderson: Owner of Anderson Creative- Professional Artist - Introvert.
Kevin is a Visual Artist and Fabricator, responsible for birthing many of the daydreams here, and the creator of the unique physical environments you may witness constantly changing within these walls. He also uses half of this brick and blue building as his own creative studio. Follow his work on his website www.andersonkevin.com .
Craig Joseph: Owner of Translations, Multi-Disciplined Creative Force.
As well as being a natural in Visual Art, Craig succeeds professionally as a talented Writer and Performing Artist outside of Translations and Anderson Creative. His originality, follow through and creative tenacity is responsible for the conceptually unique shows and the aggressive installation schedule.
Heather Bullach: Past Super Intern, and current Highly Talented Artist.
At the beginning of her very promising career as a professional artist, Heather artistically and diligently does all the rest here keeping this place in check. She is a recent Graduate of Malone University majoring in Visual Art. Also a talented Painter and Graphic Designer, and will be with us for “not long enough”. Heather’s show of unique portraitures in late spring of 2010 opened our new Studio-side gallery at Anderson Creative. Visit www.heatherbullach.com to see her work.
below: a normal day at Anderson Creative for Heather.
(Really though, there is no normal day here.)

AND, nearly 200 artists and collaborators:
As we near the end of 2011, Our identity has also been shaped by the nearly 200 Visual Artists, Writers and collaborators whom have had a voice within these walls during 2011. With each installation we ourselves have grown, and as a group, have inspired and sharpened each other. Thank you.
The three SPACES

Anderson Creative, located at 331 cleveland avenue northwest, in the heart of the Downtown Canton Arts District, comprises three distinct spaces.
The gallery (1224 square feet) is a completely renovated showroom, dedicated to exhibiting new artwork on the first friday of every month. Playing host to solo exhibits, group shows, unique collaborations and traveling installations, the gallery seeks out work that is immersive and experiential, beckoning viewers to be pulled into a world that invites deeper engagement than a quick walk-through.
The studio (400 square feet) is an annex off the main gallery, earmarked for the development of new artists and art forms. Available as classroom space for art teachers and students, an exhibition venue for debut shows and the home of Anderson Creative’s art-themed parties, this intimate space is a hub of constant activity.
Both the gallery and the studio are rental spaces, available for parties, receptions, fundraisers, ceremonies, classes, book groups, kids’ events, meetings and more. If interested, inquire about rental costs and policies.
The shop (1000 square feet) is the artistic home of owner/artist, Kevin Anderson. In this shop Kevin thrives on experimenting with a variety of methods and media, taking raw materials and concocting something new. An impressive problem solver, many of his creations arise from a dissatisfaction with current options, inspiring him to make new tools, furniture or solutions that work the way he wants them to. Kevin is available to tackle anything you need solved, but has special expertise in:
•Building furniture, both utilitarian and artistic
•Molding and casting (plaster, concrete, resins and fiberglass)
•Prototyping (product design, industrial design, model-building)
• Mixed media sculpture
• Fabricating public commissions.
