Rebekah and I decided that we should have a party for some of our Afghan friends and colleagues, but had to organize it quickly since Ramadan (or Ramazan as they say here) starts next week. During Ramadan, the Muslim world starts fasting during the day for a month. The evenings are often spent with family for Iftar, or breaking the fast.
Only in Afghanistan could we so easily arrange of party of small wedding proportions in about three days.
The party was great...
