a brief little something
Katie Workum makes actions that go on stages. With fierce movement, ice hockey training, singing, cellos, verbal wit, things that aren’t witty at all, loud noises, detailed costumes, resourceful sets, the willingness to farm her memories and the curiosity to investigate the expansive potential of the natural body, she will invite you on a journey through dark and light, arriving at a new and thoughtful place. Workum’s training does not reference one technique, but draws on her training in theater, contemporary dance, athletics and music to deliver a frankness of both movement and idea.
