The first annual Andrew and Abby Szott Foundation Sand Volleyball Benefit was held on August 19, just three days after the Tournament for Time. Emmy Garner, a friend of Abby’s planned the event.
The spirit of commitment was something to be admired. None of the teams backed out because of the rain. The final match was played in almost knee deep water. But they wouldn’t stop!
If you have an inkling to play volleyball to support the Andrew and Abby Szott Foundation you will have an opportunity to play next year. Emmy plans to hold the benefit annually. A great big thank you goes to Emmy and all the faithful volunteers.
