More digital play this morning! The background of this piece uses a rubbing that I made using tissue paper, crayons, german scrap of a fish, a lego plate, and a stencil. The rubbing was scanned and I applied the accented edges filter. I selected just the green fish and adjusted the levels to make it darker. I drew in some black contour lines to give the fish more definition. Under this “background” is another layer that is a scan of handmade paper with gold fish printed on it. I applied a vivid light blending mode that pulled out the fish from the handmade paper - can you see the white fish in the upper left hand corner? The border is from an altered journal that I scanned. This is a piece of a drawing that I hand colored. I also adjusted the colors of the scan to enhance it making the yellows and reds more saturated and the black more graphic looking. Of course I had to thrown in a little type.
