Karmen MacKendrick is Joseph C. Georg Professor in the philosophy department at Le Moyne College, where she teaches college core courses, courses in the history of philosophy, and interdisciplinary courses for programs in Honors and in Gender and Women’s Studies.
Her multidisciplinary research interests center on questions of language, corporeality, and temporality, primarily in relation to theology and religious studies. They also touch upon the arts (particularly dance), cultural studies (particularly the arts of the body), and literature.
She is the author of several books, and most recently, with Virginia Burrus and Mark Jordan, co-author of Seducing Augustine, from Fordham University Press. She has recently finished a book on seductive theology, Divine Enticement, which is coming out in Spring 2012. Her plan is to follow with one book on humility, obedience and paradoxes of the will and another on exile.
