Birding doesn’t have to involve expensive travel to exotic locales. Some of my best images and most exciting discoveries have been made in my own backyard. A simple water feature, such as a birdbath or small fountain or pond, is a great way to attract birds to your yard. My birdbath fountain is near a dining room window. I can sit at my dining table and photograph birds, window open or closed,  every day of the year.
