As a researcher, I am a behavioral and evolutionary ecologist that uses a combination of field observations and molecular genetic analyses to address questions about the ecology and evolution of reproductive behavior, primarily in avian systems.

As a teacher, I stress the importance of a holistic approach to the study of ecology and evolution with the goal of preparing students to be productive, independent, and rigorous scientists, ready for the challenges and rewards of a biological eduction.
