Welcome to My Site -                  http://web.mac.com/karenholdcraft
My dear Friends,

My time in Germany has been so very varied and different than times of previous years,
with the exception of the one semester I spent here 3 years ago.  I will give to you as brief a description as possible.  I am on staff at the Bible College in Siegen.  The directors are David and Inga-Lill Guzik, my pastor and his wife from Simi Valley, California, when I left for the mission field 9 years ago – this last September.  I am immensely enjoying the opportunity to work with them again!

My specific “job” on staff is that of the caretaker of the villa and the apartments.  I have a couple of students who work with me 8 hours a week each for their M199’s.  It is a cool job and a different pace than a full blown construction project.  I also work at the coffee bar at the church as our students are there for classes, I work there 2 mornings a week.  I am enjoying the young people quite a lot actually as well as some other ministry opportunities.

Not long after I got here we, a van full of us, went to a missions conference in Austria at the castle.  It was a great conference, way up there on my list of favorites.  The teaching was outstanding.  Then a month or so later, a handful of us, were able to go to a wedding of a couple of prior students in France, near Nice for the weekend.  Was a blessed time to visit some old friends and enjoy some current ones.  Then the next weekend another handful – some the same handful were blessed to go to Ireland for the weekend to do child care as they were blessed to have a Calvary Distinctive Conference.  I was also blessed to go to the “OM Logos Ship” for outreach week and work on the ship before it sets sail.  The ship is docked in Koge, Denmark – about a half hour train ride from Copenhagen.  Those were great opportunities, as well as just going a few times to Herborn – a local Calvary Chapel that is trying to move into their building as they were forced out to comply with new codes.  I hope they can move back in soon.

We had some great guests for “speakers week”.  We were blessed to have Gayle Erwin and Heather Mercer.  I was so very blessed and encouraged to finish this race well.

I have also started a choir with the Bible College students.  We sang a couple of hymns  for thanksgiving and we will sing a couple of Christmas tunes for graduation.

Please pray for strength and wisdom to complete this semester, it would be great to seriously be able to minister, and or inspire these young people.  Pray we get the stairwell finished for the fire department and they sign finally off on the Villa as it was remodeled for the Bible College.
