Haley, Lars, and Kara were born and raised in the heart of Lake Placid, NY. Starting skiing when they each were able to walk, they quickly fell in love with the winter sports and grew a passion for competitive skiing. Haley currently resides in Lake Placid where she trains with the United States Biathlon Team (cross country skiing and marksmanship). She currently leads the US women going into the 09-10 Olympic year. Lars graduated High School in Steamboat Springs, CO this past spring. He will be attending Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat for the year. He plans to pursue a baseball career and will now just ski for fun. Kara also retired from freestyle skiing this past spring. Ending a 12 year journey of training, competing, and traveling for freestyle skiing, she now plans to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. She will attend Colorado Mtn College in Steamboat this year as well, before returning to Boulder/Denver to get her BA and DPT.
