Through the hearthstones - 2005

A brainy thirteen-year-old, the only thing that Sophie wants to do this summer is study for advanced college placement courses. A trip to Ireland? Not a chance. But her mother prevails, and she is carted off to Ireland with her brother Patrick.  Uncle Paddy is losing his farm because nothing will grow and there’s talk of a curse. Poor frumpy Sophie.  She refuses to believe in the magic of life because all things need to be proven by a scientific process. Well, it takes three cranky, stock-trading little leprechauns to teach Sophie some life lessons when they kick her Through the Hearthstones right into an Irish myth.  There she meets some shopaholic Banshees who don’t pass up the chance to spruce up Sophie just a little bit.... and pixies, fairies, Princess Anie, and her evil uncle Lorcan. And could it be true? Anie and Sophie discover that they are related?
