Because of many life changes, and a military father who is never home, Patrick, a sixteen-year-old boy has lost hope and faith that his father will return, and thus has given up on his dreams of his family being together again. He is sent a mysterious blanket by his namesake uncle, Padraig, in Ireland. In his sleep the blanket transports Patrick to Dream City where he meets many characters who show him the error of his belief system, and that in order to restore his happiness, he must rescue the virtues Hope and Faith who have been stolen by the Dreamsnatcher. Patrick is guided by the virtue, Courage, who gives him her heart, while knowing Patrick pines for someone else, and that soon he will leave her world.
