The morning of the first Canada Cup starts with the sun rays beating down on my face through our hotel window at 7:30 AM. I open my eyes and the thoughts “I’m racing today” come into my head. I get out of bed and make my way over to the mini bar fridge, making my first meal of the day which consists of lots of fruit mixed with vanilla yogurt. Albion Hill O Cup # 2 was a fun race.  The day before, we had some rain, so the course got chewed up pretty bad in sections.  I drove up race day with Natalie and my Dad.  At this race I really wanted to focus on my start.  The starts are key in all races and I wanted to push my self super hard and see if I could recover from it.  The course had some nice mud sections with one major puddle.  On the first lap, I didn’t know where to ride through it, and got caught right in the middle of it.  I

The trip to Europe was quite exciting this year.  Again I flew from the south over the big pond.  Amanda Sin , Chris Everest and I traveled to Monterey California to do the famous Sea Otter Classic first.  The weather was different from usual.  When we first got there the wind was so strong it was blowing over the portable toilets.  It also blew me over as I was going off a bit of a jump.  It destroyed my helmet, but I was ok.  The race usually has cooler weather with sometimes rain, but this

April Report
 
April was a full month of racing. After three months of base training in Ontario and South Carolina, I was looking forward to the season opener, the Ice Breaker. The race conditions were perfect and I finished first woman overall. The best part was the cash prize, the first time cash prizes were given at the Ice Breaker.
