You haven’t really loved someone till you’ve brushed their teeth! :) Ok Just Kidding! Hey Everyone! July Update If there’s one thing I’m continuing to learn it’s how to love people. Now this might surprise you coming from a missionary because we’re supposed to love everyone. If every wanna-be missionary waited until they we’re perfected in love before going on the mission field the world would have no missionaries. I hope your impressed with my spirituality! :) If I can’t love people the way Jesus did than what am I really accomplishing for eternity? Why did Jesus tell us to love our enemies? Because it’s too easy to love our friends and families (well, a least for some of us). Let’s face it... its not hard to love those who love you in return or bless those who bless you back. If your spouse buys you a gift it’s to easy to lovingly say thank you...a little hug or kiss comes easy. It takes very little sacrifice on our part to love someone like that. Now think about that person who gets on your nerves... that one who lies, cheats, steals, gossips, and slanders you. that foul-mouthed, loud-mouthed, prideful, arrogant, person that God (YES GOD) placed in your life. (get the picture?) That’s who I’m talking about ...loving them from the heart fulfills Matthew 5:44. Love isn’t love until it cost you something to give it. Until we give ourselves we really don’t understand what REAL love is. God Sacrifices His son to give us a vivid example of TRUE love. He gave something of great personal expense. He gave us the trophy of His heart. We determine the value of the love offering in what it personally costs us to give it. Think about the poor widow who places a penny in the church offering plate. Sacrificial love is giving a piece of your heart. We never deserved forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life but God gave us His Heart.
