My African heart has been beating strongly and for years I have wanted to race back in Africa, especially the Marathon des Sables.
However I have also been longing to head back to to the arctic circle and after many hours spent poring over maps and plenty of planning, it seems that I have come up with a journey that will satisfy both my desires.
The plan is to do a 1000 mile run up to the arctic circle in temperatures below -40.
I will then travel to Morocco and run the 150 mile Marathon des Sables across the Sahara Desert.
Just how wise it is to start the so-called toughest foot race on earth after running 1000 miles across the unforgiving terrain of Alaska remains to be seen.
Watch this space!
