I’m a graduate student of philosophy at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. My research focuses primarily upon issues in metaethics, but this has allowed me to do a fair amount of dabbling in other areas, including moral psychology, epistemology, the philosophy of language, and the philosophy of religion. Most recently, I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about moral language and the nature of expression.
My wife (Molly) and I are the proud parents of a boy who is also named James and a chocolate lab named Clementine. In my spare time, I like to hang out with my family, watch golf and college football, read about American history, and imagine what my life would be like if I owned a brewpub.
