A Gallery of Art and Ideas on Main Street
Jim and Kathy Richardson opened Small World in 2002 to represent the best of art in Lindsborg and Kansas. The broad open space with a classic tin ceiling is our gallery home and our offices.
Beginning in 2008 Small World will focus on Jim’s photography and Kathy’s jewelry. Meanwhile Studio Lindsborg, just down the street at 113 North Main Street, will give added space and attention to the artists we represent.

From Toggery to Gallery
127 North Main Street in Lindsborg has been home to several businesses since being built, ca. 1920, most notably a toggery, as evidenced by the tile inlays at the front door. Turning this great old building into a gallery required a thorough gutting of decades worth of haphazard remodeling. Hidden above the false ceiling was the beautiful tin ceiling you see today. Pealing up the old carpet revealed our warm wood floor. And completely new wiring, heating, and cooling created a modern space that also reflects the spirit of hope and progress that was present when the building was new, nearly a century ago.
We hope this gallery carries on the great tradition of the arts in Lindsborg that has brought rich meaning to so many.
