Contemporary Fine Artist CHRISTINE CAUDILL-GOODHUE Artist Statement As a life-long career artist, I have found that I work in a Series of Artistic Expressions. These series tend to be motivated by context of Environment, Life and Contemporary Culture. Most often my work is directly related to the Earth--imagery from nature. The imagery is inspired by a real place, a real flower, a real event or a real person. The resulting work of art is a designed expression of that reality. Symbolic imagery and titles elude to the philosophical thought behind each creation--sometimes expressed boldly, other times subtly. In my paintings, I use bold expressive color, building layer upon layer of color and texture. In my layered media works, I choose components that have color and texture to create cohesiveness in the finished work. The layered media pieces have original individually created components. I rarely use found image. Each Series of Artistic Expression has a focus time period. As the artist I do not intend to "close" the series, but rather leave it "Open-ended" because… You just don't know when you will be inspired to add to each series as Environment, Life and Culture impacts your inner creative spirit.
 
CHRISTINE CAUDILL-GOODHUE

Christine Caudill-Goodhue is a career artist, specializing in contemporary landscape and floral fine art. Her passion for the arts has resulted in a career of making art, teaching art or designing artistic spaces.  Christine spends many hours outdoors absorbing Nature's beauty, expressing the essential spirit of that beauty in her works of art.  Vibrant colors and textural surfaces are her trademark.  She begins most works as acrylic paintings. Printmaking techniques, fabric, ink or hand-tooled, burnished copper may be added for textural interest.
 
Christine’s formal art training began at the Art Institute in Atlanta, GA. where she studied design and art history.  She received her Masters Degree in Art
from Eastern Kentucky University where her focus areas were painting and printmaking. She received additional training at Arrowmont School of Arts in
Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Many media specific art workshops in Chicago, Honolulu, New York and California have given fresh inspiration for her art.
Christine’s award winning fine art has become part of national and international private collections.  She has exhibited her work in galleries, juried art exhibitions
