In 1978, Jeff founded an Advertising, Marketing and Production company that grew to become a multimillion dollar, nationally syndicated agency. His specialty for 20+ years was increasing market share for thousands of business owners nationwide who had banded together for their common good under the banners of their national franchise companies, co-operative buying groups, manufacturers, and trade associations. He worked with a variety of regional and national organizations, including:
	•	CCA Global Partners (parent company of Carpet One, Flooring America, Stone Mountain Carpet Outlets, and America's Carpet Gallery)
	•	Maxim Group (parent company of Carpetmax, Rugmax, and Admax)
	•	Floors To Go (a division of Abbey Carpets)
	•	Kincaid Furniture (a La-Z-Boy Industries company)
	•	NADA (National Automobile Dealers Association)
	•	TVB (Television Bureau of Advertising)
	•	WFCA (World Floor Coverings Association)
As agency owner and later as a consultant, Jeff:
	•	was a national TV and Radio voice-over artist.
	•	designed and oversaw the successful operation of video recording and post-production suites, multi-track audio studios, graphic arts studio, and computer-assisted media planning and buying department.
	•	oversaw successful media negotiations in virtually every United States media market.
	•	recruited, trained, and led a team of full-time employees, and directed the activities of independent contractors on a project basis.
	•	conceptualized, planned, developed, produced, implemented and managed all variety of national, regional and local advertising campaigns and marketing programs in virtually every United States media market (and a few in Canada, too!).
	•	was instrumental in the successful start-up of a national franchise company, directing its in-house advertising agency and participating in franchise sales.
	•	delivered educational advertising seminars and workshops to 10,000+ business owners and managers at their national trade shows, conventions, and buying markets. (More than a few TV, radio and newspaper executives were known to sneak in, uninvited!).
	•	syndicated (licensed) his award-winning advertising campaigns to 1,500+ businesses nationally, primarily in the automotive, floor coverings, and home furnishings industries.
After selling his company, Jeff moved to Williamsburg, Virginia in 1998, eager to devote more time to teaching, writing and consulting.
	•	As a 2001-2 Visiting Professor of Advertising at West Virginia University, he taught classes in:

	◦	Advertising Campaigns
	◦	Introduction to the Electronic Media
	◦	Beginning Journalistic Writing
	•	His highly acclaimed non-fiction book, Secrets: Unlocking the Mysteries of Successful Advertising, has become "required reading" for business owners, media professionals, and communications students nationwide.
	•	He remains active in the field as a nationally recognized Advertising Consultant.
