Jill P. Dimond

Greetings, my name is Jill Dimond.  I originally hail from Michigan, the peninsula that looks like a mitten and is currently experiencing a form of diaspora. I grew up in a small town in western Michigan called Hastings and then went to the University of Michigan to study Computer Science. Next, due to the lack of jobs and a desire for a taste of the Pacific Northwest, I moved to Seattle where I was an interaction designer for Blink Interactive for a couple years.

Accumulating my experience from my undergraduate studies and the professional world, I decided to embark on a PhD to address issues of underrepresentation in computing but became more interested in the role of gender and technology more broadly.  Thus, I have started to investigate cyberstalking and digital harassment.

Outside of work, I enjoy figure painting, cooking, riding my bicycle, traveling, growing vegetables, and having friends over for dinner.
