Hey gang! I leave for the shoot in five days. Really looking forward to it. Rehearsals start on Monday and shooting begins the following week. Stewart (the director) has been in Pittsburgh for the past three weeks doing prep for the film. As was leaked to several websites, the casting is nearly complete. Most of the names were in Hollywood Reporter the other day (although Pete and I were not mentioned... of course... because who the hell cares about writers, right?). Anyway, since it’s already been reported elsewhere, I can mention that the cast we have so far is pretty cool. Our main sorority girls are Briana Evigan (from Step Up 2... which my next door neighbor A.D.’d.), Leah Pipes (who probably gave my favorite audition -- I think she’s going to be amazing), Jamie Chung (from the upcoming Dragonball and the show Samurai Girl), Margo Harshman (another really fun audition -- she’s in the upcoming Fired Up), Audrina Patridge (if you’ve been living under a rock or haven’t logged into Perez Hilton every day for the past year... she was on the Hills), and Rumer Willis (from House Bunny, and I’m not sure but I think she has a famous mom or dad or something). Coolest of all, Carrie Fisher is playing the house mother. Not only was I obsessed with her in my teen years because of Star Wars, but she’s an amazing writer -- Postcards from the Edge is still one of my favorite films!!! I can’t wait just to sit near her and suck some of it up through osmosis. There are a few others that I think have been announced but I don’t want to jump the gun on anyone so I’ll refrain from spoilers and revealing others.
Also, the title of the film has been changed from the original, The House on Sorority Row, to simply Sorority Row. I came across the fake mock-up poster above while trolling online (I think it was on an IMDb page).
Stay well and I’ll be in touch.
Josh
