For a long time I wanted an Apple computer at my office but I knew with the compatibility issues that wasn’t going to happen. Well, finally Apple switches to Intel chips and I knew shortly after I would be able to get one. I waited until my HP notebook died and finally I could get a brand new iMac. I still had to run XP though and knew Boot Camp was too much of a hassle. I needed to run Microsoft Office for its Tasks syncing (still missing in Office for the Mac 2008) and CorelDraw. CorelDraw used to port to the Mac but it was terrible so they stopped that and now just encourage the use of VMWare Fusion. Before I used Parallels and it ended up being just too slow to run CorelDraw and Outlook 2007, even worse I couldn’t connect to my company’s network! It looked bad and that I might have to take the iMac back to the store! But finally I tried VMWare Fusion [http://www.vmware.com/switchtofusion] which takes advantage of my Core 2 Duo processor as opposed to Parallels only using 1 processor! Now my XP machine runs better than my notebook ever did! A big plus is the networking issue is no longer an issue and I’ve even gotten my dad to switch and he is very pleased. Compare that to Parallels which made him not want to turn on the computer!
