R5 - Rutland Water

A classic day out on a classic course! Colin Clews, once again put all his expertise into organising round 5 of the National Trophy CX series. Entries were bulging as everyone knew it would be a blinder of a course. Edged onto the side of Rutland Water, if you could take a breather when navigating the strength sapping gravel or the gloupios amounts of mud, you’d have had a beautiful view. With snow the night before and lashings of rain, the course was a tad bit moist to say the least, it was a challenge just to stay upright. The great and the glorious all came to do battle with some cracking racing unfolding all day.

For a report and the results hop over to British Cycling where Larry Hickmott was on duty, I was merely out on a jolly...

See you all at the CX  Nationals if not before!
