New Year’s Eve Groove

After being on a musical hiatus while I completed a DVD for my parents’ 50th anniversary, and having had my fill of bowl games, I sat down to do something with a grungy bass groove.

Using Pod Farm’s dual amp capability, I used a heavily distorted high end model on top of a huge low end amp model to get the bass sound.

And now I find myself pining for more drum loop variations and fills to flesh out this track (and all the others as well). Garage Band has many loops, but they get repetitive which stifles creativity a bit. If only the midi could trigger samples of live drums instead of synthetic “kits.” Might be time to invest in Ocean Way Drums or BFD 2.
