Never give a man Sitar loops, for he might start a groove.

Using the same bass tone from New Year’s Eve Groove, I decided to do something a little different with an Indian flavor and a number of Satriani-style open string pulloffs. I was probably inspired by the visit of an old family friend from Sri Lanka.

The song started in GarageBand, but I had some trouble with audio weirdness on some of the loops, so I switched to Logic. I spent the better part of two days recording and mixing it before I had a product that I could pronounce complete. And then I went back and tweaked it because the bass wasn’t heavy enough. And then it was too heavy. So went back and tweaked it again, and I’ll probably tweak it another time because I’m a darn perfectionist.
