Situated over a mile high in the Bridger Mountains outside of Bozeman, Montana, Rancho Picante breeds and raises Quarter Horses specifically for the performance sport of Reining. Our broodmares, foals, weanlings, and yearlings spend their days on high mountain grass and alfalfa hay, watered from our 250’ deep artesian wells. We keep our breeding operation to an optimum size for our 68 acres, producing and offering for sale a maximum of six yearlings annually. When a horse leaves our ranch to go into training, we are certain it has had the best possible combination of nutrition, veterinary care, early handling, and environment to produce a strong and sound competitor.
