Mokka was the first place to serve Italian style coffee in Iceland by the cup. Their approach authentic and genuine in spirit. Mokka is a total gem. The concept was very simple, serve good italian coffee and give young unknown artists walls to hang their art onto.
And for 50 years it has been doing so. Still true to the cause. The interior hasn't changed much over the years. It doesn't need to - it's perfect like it is.
I think in fact the only thing they ever upgraded is going from a hand pulled machine to an automatic La Cimbali.
Mokka is in the lower end of Skólavördustígur.
