Kolaport Flea Market
01.03.2007
Flea Markets can slice a layer out of any society and give you a taste of the average. Not the served surface. The Kolaport Market is just that sort of a place. You’ll find endless heaps of junk for sale here along with the occasional rare find that you may just get at a bargain. This is where I take my foreign friends to sample Icelandic Rotten Shark for free and see their faces turn green, an absolute must. Small price to pay for so much fun - it’s only a nibble.

You’ll find old and new crap - good and bad, local produce and slightly interesting local food on offer here.

The Kolaport Market is located in an old customs warehouse down by the harbor, so it’s again, like everything else in the dead centre. The famed hot dog stand in mentioned in the street-food entry is diagonally adjacent to its main entrance. I believe its now open every day of the week. This market’s activity like any other peaks on weekends.
