God enabled us to get out of our deficit with the mission. We have been able to maintain our support level in spite of the economic recession. The fluctuation in the American/Canadian dollar relationship keeps us praying and trusting in God for our future. We recognize His provision through the generosity of our friends and family. We have always believed that He would provide for our needs as we commit those to Him. We thank you for being a part of that ministry and trust that you may experience the same blessing as we together trust Him for our every need.

Our Goal with Financial Support
Our ultimate goal in raising support is to eventually “work ourselves out of job.” We believe that God has called us to Chambly to help the church plant become self-sufficient and reproducing. We aren’t convinced that the church should depend on missionaries for its future ministry needs. Therefore, the church is working on gradually increasing its commitment toward its pastoral staff. The Chambly church currently provides a little over half of our monthly support with the goal of being able to provide for a full-time pastor in the future.
Support Raising 101
Relying on God to raise our own support means that our monthly income fluctuates based on the financial gifts we receive. The percentages on the pie chart reflect the average percentage of our targeted support level we receive over a 6 month period. This also represents our “required” support level for staying on the field. We also have a targeted “recommended” support that the mission sends us as a long term goal. But to be honest, just reaching the “required” amount is quite a blessing for us. Living with just enough to cover our costs the past years has made us quite grateful to have a little more set aside now for ministry related projects.
Our monthly pledged support is less than the chart, but thanks to one-time gifts that come in periodically, it bumps the final average up. For example, a level of 79% means we are often in a deficit and need those periodic one time gifts to close the gap to at least 90% support in order to meet our financial obligations.
Also, when you send a donation through our mission organization, you are in fact designating your donation for Avant Ministries. In essence, your donation becomes their money. Avant Ministries manages the funds for us to ensure that we have stable revenue throughout the year, and makes those funds available for specific ministry projects. If our average support goes down over an extended period of time, the mission will reduce our monthly revenue accordingly, and sometimes prod us to return home to raise additional support. In the rare event that too much support is received, our donors would be notified, and funds could be redirected toward related projects or missionaries in need.
