God Giveth the Increase

When we sought the Lord on our priorities for 2009, we felt strongly that we should continue to focus on the Gospel in all of its facets. We believed, and still believe, that God sovereignly draws people to Himself. We also believe that God calls us to participate in His works. This understanding is the basis for passionate prayer and intercession.

I read a stirring article by Pastor John Piper several months ago that gave me a needed perspective on prayer. (click here to read the article on the Desiring God Ministries website)

One thought that stood out was how striving in prayer sharpens my awareness of the real needs around me. Striving in prayer requires that I see those needs as critical. But striving in prayer often changes my heart towards those needs making me more receptive to God’s leading.

However you perceive prayer, please continue to strive with us in prayer for God’s will to be done in Chambly. We seek to reflect Him to those we meet. Pray that we would be sensitive to their real needs and available to meet them where they are.
