Method

Combine unwrapped caramels with 1/3 cup of the milk in a heavy saucepan over low heat; stir and heat until blended. In large bowl, combine cake mix with melted margarine and remaining 1/3 cup of milk; stir until blended. Lightly grease sides of 9x13 inch baking pan. Spread half of the cake mixture in pan. Bake at 350∞ for 6 minutes; remove from over. Set aside about 2 tablespoons of the nuts for topping; spread remainder of nuts, chocolate chips and caramel mixture over top by small spoonfuls; it will not cover completely. Sprinkle reserved nuts on exposed caramels. Return to oven; bake for 15-20 minutes longer. Cool, cut into bars
