Ingredients
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ½ cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ teaspoons almond extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 ½ cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon red food coloring
- ½ cup peppermint crushed candy canes
Method
Mix ingredients together except candy canes and Ω C. sugar. Divide dough in half and tint Ω red. Roll dough into a 4-inch rope. Twist white with red and shape into a cane. Bake at 375∞ for 9-12 minutes. Sprinkle over immediately after cooking. Remove from cookie sheet
