Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- ½ cup plain nonfat yogurt
- ½ cup apple or cranberry juice
- 2 tablespoons honey (more or less to taste)
- ½ of a medium banana, sliced and frozen
- 1 packed cup pre-washed baby spinach leaves
Method
Combine all of the ingredients except the spinach in a blender; blend until smooth. Add the spinach to the blender, pushing down into the smoothie (to more easily blend the leaves). Blend until smooth.
Notes
The fresh spinach leaves do not add any taste or texture to the smoothie, and are almost completely invisible once blended in. Don’t be tempted to try frozen spinach—I have, and it adds a strong, unpleasant flavor and does not blend completely (yuck).
