Some of those who are knew have not had the pleasure of getting to know Treena. She was part of the 5th weekend and remained a very active member of the community until she decided to turn a new chapter in her life. Sometime after our advent retreat last year, Treena was able to sit back and assess her present state in life, she realized that the time for changes and chasing dream was right. She quit her job where she was doing quite well, and moved to Dubai to see what opportunities were in store for her there. It was something that we talked about when we were together in KL and I was happy about her decision.
It though initially wasn’t easy. Unlike what she had previously heard, the opportunities were not abundant and things weren’t as easy as she thought they would be. It was a trying time for Treena that was made harder by the fact that she had no family or community to lean on to. She did however have her relationship with Christ that was so strong that He presented Himself to her through the strangest encounters with different people in Dubai - both Christian and non-Christian.
Treena’s stay in Dubai is much better now. She has been able to make a lot of new friends (that’s the way she is) and has adopted a church community although I know that a big part of her is still with SYA. Why did God open a door for her in a Muslim country? Perhaps it was in order to help spread his word of salvation through the loud and unceasing mouth of Treena!
Well, that’s Treena, I hope that you all can get to meet her one day. She will truly enrich and enliven your life.
